Custom Routed Signs
Every project your brand touches is a chance to speak louder. To draw attention. To underscore value. Today’s visual environment isn’t just space dressing-it’s part of business logic: an architectural element, a marketing instrument, and the first impression of your brand. That’s the real signage meaning in business: not decoration, but a working part of how a company performs.
When it comes to special foam routed signs, custom routed signs, or CNC routed signs, the solution has to work without compromise: hold deadlines, install smoothly, and avoid wasted spend on heavy materials and specialized equipment. We are 3D Sign Factory, a team with 25 years of experience in architectural fabrication and brand architecture. In-house production in the USA. Custom engineering, the largest 3D printers in the world. We know how to turn an idea into a delivered project, on schedule, cost-rational, and visually flawless.
In this text you’ll see why foam custom signs have become the choice of decision-makers in architecture, design, development, and brand integration-and how our solutions address real business needs, whether you call them custom made signs, custom made signage, or simply service signs for a growing brand.
Types of Foam & CNC Routed Signs

We build in any format and scale. Here are several directions:
Dimensional logos and letters: custom foam routed signs, foam lettering for signs, or HDU signs with crisp lines, strong shadow, and the look of cast metal or monolithic material that becomes the visual focal point.
Way finding and architectural elements: places where you need to minimize impact on the facade while maximizing effect. Shapes that don’t overload structure and don’t require boom lifts.
Decorative brand zones and photo points: decorative foam routed signs or HDU signs that become a stage for marketing-guests take photos, share, and the brand gets extra organic reach.
Temporary builds and event solutions: when you need a big effect fast. Lightweight material, quick install, cost-optimal.
Long-term outdoor elements: year-round components that withstand sun, rain, and wind-with the right coating and carefully engineered construction, ideal as exterior building signage or panel signs for business.
In each of these directions our job isn’t to “make a HDU sign,” but to deliver a visual solution that functions as part of your business. Whether the industry calls it routed signage, routered signs, or custom hdu signs, the engineering behind it is the same.
Our path and the trust earned over the years
When we started 25 years ago, dimensional brand architecture looked different: heavy metal letters, massive 3D shapes, complex installs. That was the landscape-we worked with what existed and learned to deliver fast, accurately, and sensibly.
Over time, requirements shifted: today it’s not only about visual impact, but also schedule, logistics, cost optimization, modularity, and weight. We’ve lived that shift. We understand the pain points of contractors, design studios, and developer teams, and we know: an unpredictable vendor = project delay risk = climbing costs. Unlike many sign companies, our philosophy is simple: anticipate everything, engineer everything, enable everything.
For example, in Georgia a large medical complex needed developer signage on the facade before the official opening while the facade wasn’t fully ready. The investor needed the install to be painless. We received the building’s BIM model, calculated loads, produced high density urethane lettering for signs, prepared fastening drawings, delivered the parts, and the contractor executed the install exactly by our instructions. The client’s report: “You accomplished what we couldn’t without you-and the site’s revenue timeline stayed intact.”
We work with brands like Amazon, Marriott, and Red Bull-and when they choose us, it’s not just logos on a page; it’s trust in a team that can take complexity and make it feel light.
Your choice isn’t an experiment. Your choice is a confident decision backed by a 25-year reputation.
Materials and technology: how we create quality that lasts
Custom architectural foam is the high-density material at the core of everything we build, and its potential is unlocked when engineering and production are dialed in. We don’t just “do high density urethane foam.” We run the path from idea to finished structure with full consideration of all project factors.
We start with your design-or ours. We validate geometry, loads, fasteners, and interaction with facade or interior. We select the material type-HDU, XPS, or EPS-based on conditions (exterior, loads, textures). We determine how coatings will perform, which chemistries to use, how to protect against UV, moisture, and mechanical wear.
Then production begins: we use either 3D printing (for complex forms and deep reliefs) or precision CNC fabrication (when the shape allows). We work the relief, build textures, finalize geometry, and prep the surface for the topcoat. Coating isn’t just paint: we apply systems that simulate metal, stone, or wood. Surface prep includes priming, sanding, controlling roughness, and verifying allowable tolerances. One story: on a Florida site we simulated aged metal on 2.5-meter-tall letters. Guests thought it was real bronze until they touched it-lightweight high density urethane construction. Meanwhile we reduced install load and shortened install time.
Next comes fastening and documentation. We calculate every attachment point, coordinate with the contractor, and issue drawings. When it makes sense, we pre-assemble nodes in our shop so there’s minimal field work. That means fewer errors, less time, and reduced incidental costs.
We consult the install crew, provide hands-on guidance and a complete technical package. We provide a 20-year warranty on our products-a warranty that says we believe in our material and our process. You don’t just get a sign-you get a long-term visual asset with no hidden gotchas.

Production process-how it works in practice
We receive the brief and/or design file. We clarify technical conditions: facade, interior, use case, climate. We build the 3D model of HDU sign and calculate fasteners, loads, and install operations. We align it with you. We produce parts-either on a 3D printer or on the router. We select material, account for thickness, geometry, and relief. We process the surface: textures, geometry adjustments, sanding, priming, and the finish that matches the specified material. We fabricate fastening and connection elements. We often pre-assemble large nodes so field operations are minimized. We prepare a complete drawing set, install instructions, and recommendations for fasteners and operation. We don’t “show up and install”-we equip you so the install runs fast and surprise-free. We deliver parts on schedule. Logistics are tuned-we track so your contractor receives everything on time.
Consultation and adherence checks. A 20-year warranty means we don’t “ship and forget.” We stay behind you as a partner so the visual effect remains long-term.
For example, on a Tampa project of HDU sign we pre-assembled a four-block large node in our shop, primed and coated it. On site the install wrapped in three hours. The client freed up the grader and reduced special equipment time-thanks to solid prep.

Our clients are serious brands (Amazon, Marriott, Red Bull). They choose us for reliability, partnership mindset, and risk management.
Your contractor gets less headache; you get less risk; your brand gets a stronger visual environment.
If you want a solution aligned with your timeline, budget, spec-and beyond that, elevates your project-choose us.
Where our solutions are used
Hotels and resorts
This space demands visual impact without compromising install speed or longevity. We delivered hotel signage, wayfinding, and entry groups for multiple Florida hotels: letters up to 3 meters tall with a bronze finish, total assembly under 150 kg, overnight install. Result-hospitality greets guests with a premium solution, and the brand runs without disruption.
Restaurants and cafés
When the interior or facade must “speak” the brand, it has to look high-end without consuming the entire materials and install budget. Near Tampa we produced decorative foam architectural contour-cut HDU signs with an aged-metal finish, capturing a premium vibe while saving on structure — the same system that works well for franchise signage across multiple locations. The owner noted: “You gave us a fine-dining look on a mid-market budget.”
Shopping Centers
Large signage, photo zones, and brand installations-these become part of the mall’s marketing, from shop signs at individual storefronts to anchor-tenant shop signage. For a Georgia retail complex we developed lightweight constructions with resilience to mechanical wear and a quick overnight install window. Result- faster opening, less noise, less downtime.
Offices and corporate buildings
Corporate environments need clarity, precision, and branding that won’t age out. In an Atlanta IT office we installed hand painted foam lettering for HDU signs in the lobby: a logo on a textured wall, letters with lighting, install finished over a weekend. Now the brand greets partners and employees the right way.
Medical and educational centers
Here it’s not only the look but reliability, safety, and ease of service. In a Florida training center we built foam wayfinding panels: easy to install, minimal wall impact, and quick to update when needed. The client said: “You solved our wayfinding so it reads as part of the architecture, not an add-on.”
Theme parks and entertainment
Large, vivid, impressive forms-this is where foam shines. In an Orlando park we created a nearly 6-meter-tall brand installation with an aged-metal finish, installed overnight. It became a primary photo point-and the brand gained organic visual reach.
Municipal buildings and religious properties lean on the same engineering — from municipal signage and decorative street signs for civic districts to custom church signs that welcome a congregation without a heavy stone budget.
Across all these sectors our solutions grow the business, help you stand out, cut install and service costs, and increase the brand’s visual effectiveness.
Why work with 3D Sign Factory
We get it: when you choose a vendor for visual solutions, you’re judging not only the look, but also technical reliability, schedules, logistics, and the ability to slot into the build timeline. We offer a complete solution:
